Netgallery uses a limited number of cookies and similar technologies. This cookie policy explains what is used, why and how you can change your choice.
Necessary storage
The website uses local storage named ng_cookie_consent to remember your cookie choice. This choice is kept for a maximum of 180 days. This is necessary to avoid showing the consent banner on every visit and to respect your choice. No analytics data is extracted from this storage.
Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics is loaded only after you click Accept. If you reject, Google Analytics is not loaded. The Measurement ID is associated with the Netgallery website. Google Analytics uses first-party cookies including _ga and _ga_<container-id> to distinguish users and sessions and preserve session state. According to Google, their default lifetime is up to two years, subject to browser limitations. Data retention inside Google Analytics is a separate setting of the Analytics property.
Vimeo and external media
Vimeo is not loaded into the page in advance. Only when you explicitly click a video thumbnail is the Vimeo player loaded. From that point Vimeo may use cookies or similar technologies and process data under its own privacy policy.
Consent
Analytics is not necessary to use Netgallery and is therefore activated only after prior consent. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookies” link in the footer. When consent is withdrawn, the existing Analytics consent is removed from local consent storage and Analytics is not loaded again on subsequent page views until you consent again.
